Our review

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business is the business-focused counterpart to the premium Sapphire Reserve, aimed at business owners who spend heavily on travel and advertising. It pairs a high annual fee with strong rewards, airport lounge access, and a set of business-oriented statement credits.

It ranks among the top business travel cards in our lineup because of its earning power on travel and advertising combined with the flexibility of Chase Ultimate Rewards. Points can be transferred to airline and hotel partners or redeemed for travel through Chase Travel, giving business owners real control over how they use rewards.

The card earns elevated rewards on travel booked through Chase, bonus rewards on flights and hotels booked directly, and bonus rewards on social media and search engine advertising, which is a meaningful category for many businesses. There is generally no cap on the advertising bonus, which can add up quickly for companies with significant ad budgets.

We like this card because it brings premium travel benefits, including lounge access with guest privileges, into a business card while adding credits tailored to business needs such as hiring and productivity tools. For the right business, the ongoing value can be substantial.

This card is best suited for established businesses with heavy travel and advertising spend that can use the lounge access and business credits. Smaller businesses, or those that do not travel much, will usually get better value from a lower-fee business card such as the Ink Business Preferred.

Why we like it

  • High earning on travel booked through Chase and on flights and hotels booked directly, which rewards travel-heavy businesses.
  • Bonus rewards on social media and search engine advertising with no stated cap, which is valuable for companies with large marketing budgets.
  • Airport lounge access through Priority Pass Select and the Chase Sapphire Lounge network, with complimentary access for the primary cardholder and up to two guests.
  • A flexible annual travel credit that applies automatically to a broad range of travel purchases.
  • Business-oriented statement credits, including credits toward hiring and productivity tools, plus access to the full set of Chase transfer partners.

Who it's best for

  • Established businesses with substantial travel and advertising spend.
  • Business owners who want premium travel perks, including lounge access with guest privileges.
  • Companies building a Chase Ultimate Rewards strategy that want flexible point transfers.

Welcome bonus

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business currently offers a large welcome bonus of Ultimate Rewards points after you meet a significant minimum spend within the first several months of opening the account. The bonus amount, spend requirement, and time window are sizable and can change, so confirm the current offer and its estimated value shown above before applying.

As a Sapphire product, it is subject to Chase eligibility rules that can limit who can earn the bonus.

Using your rewards

Points can be transferred to Chase airline and hotel partners, redeemed for travel through Chase Travel, or used for other redemptions. Transferring to partners or booking travel through Chase typically offers the strongest value for business travelers.

The card transfers to the same Chase partners as the rest of the lineup, including World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy, IHG One Rewards, Wyndham Rewards, United MileagePlus, Southwest Rapid Rewards, JetBlue TrueBlue, Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, British Airways Club, Iberia Plus, Aer Lingus AerClub, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer.

Confirm current partners and transfer ratios in your Chase account, since these can change over time.

Airport lounge access

Yes. The card includes Priority Pass Select membership and access to the Chase Sapphire Lounge network, and notably it extends complimentary lounge access to the primary cardholder plus up to two guests.

Foreign transaction fees

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business charges no foreign transaction fees, which makes it a strong choice for international business travel and purchases.

Major credits & annual benefits

A flexible annual travel credit that applies automatically to a broad range of travel purchases.

A statement credit toward the Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS application fee, available once every four years.

Business-oriented statement credits, which have included credits toward hiring services and productivity software, along with recurring credits for services such as ride-hailing and food delivery. Each credit carries its own limits and terms, and some are split into monthly or semi-annual increments, so review the current benefit details before relying on any single credit.

Insurance & protections

The card generally includes premium travel protections along with purchase protections, similar in spirit to the personal Sapphire Reserve.

Coverage typically requires paying with the card and is subject to specific limits, exclusions, and claim procedures. Review the current benefit guide for exact terms before relying on any protection.

Fees & tradeoffs

The annual fee is high for a business card, and covering it typically requires meaningful travel and advertising spend or diligent use of the statement credits. Businesses that will not use those credits may find the fee hard to justify beyond the first year.

As with the personal Reserve, the coupon-style credits add complexity, and some of them apply to services a given business may not actually use.

Final verdict

For a travel-heavy business with significant advertising spend, the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business can deliver strong value, particularly in the first year when the welcome bonus and estimated first-year value shown above are factored in.

Smaller businesses, or those that do not travel often, are usually better served by the lower-fee Ink Business Preferred, which still earns transferable Ultimate Rewards without the premium price.
